This course is designed to be a comprehensive update on the evaluation and management of patients with advanced heart failure including the epidemiology for this condition, inpatient and outpatient management approaches, use of surgical techniques including cardiac replacement therapy (e.g. heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support). The curriculum is designed to prepare learner for the first ever ABIM Certifying examination in Heart Failure & Transplant scheduled for November 8, 2010.
Much of the material will be presented in lecture format by the best teachers and clinicians from the Columbia University Medical Center.
