Q: As a new employee, when will I receive my first paycheck?
A: You should check with your Division Administrative Contact or Supervisor who can then confirm the timing of your first paycheck based upon forms submission and the Payroll Processing Schedule.

Q: Can I have Direct Deposit?
A: Direct deposit of your net check to the savings or checking account of your choice is available to all University employees. The completed form (Direct Deposit Form) must be submitted to HRPC at 330 5th Avenue, 11th Floor, New York, New York 10001.

Q: What do the abbreviations on my pay stub stand for?
A: Please check our complete listing of abbreviations and descriptions which you will find under "Check Deposit Advice" on our Payroll Policies and Procedures page.

Q: I didn't receive my W-2 Form
A: Please call the Payroll Department at 851-2834 or email w2@columbia.edu to receive a duplicate copy.

Q: How can I prepare for the amount of tax withheld from my paycheck for taxable tuition?
A: A copy of the federal and local tax withholding tables is available in the Payroll Department ( Payroll Forms).
